Welcome to the official Meals for Milton Parc Newsletter. It is run by the Meals for Milton Parc Advocacy group. We are committed to changing the mindsets and policies surrounding the stigma and injustices our unhoused neighbour's face. We by no means claim to speak for or represent the diverse and intersectional experiences of unhoused individuals. Instead, we believe that it is everyone's personal and collective duty to work towards a future that is incompatible with any notion of white supremacy, colonialism,  and capitalism. Since many of our members are white, are settlers in Tiohtià ke, and are middle class - it is important to acknowledge that we presently benefit from these systems; so, our commitment stems from a sense of responsibility to help dismantle these systems and speak out against the injustices that oppress our community members.

Choose community everyday.

We acknowledge that the land we are situated on is the unceded traditional territory of the Kanien’kehà:ka; Tiohtià:ke/Montréal is historically known as a gathering place which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst many First Nations. Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within the Montreal community. We recognize and respect the Kanien’kehà:ka as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which we meet today. We strongly support community efforts to foster and promote a relationship with Indigenous Peoples based on respect, dignity, trust, and cooperation, in the process of advancing truth and reconciliation.
